Dr Tarek Antonios – MB, ChB (Honours), MSc (internal Medicine), MD (London), FESC, FRCP (UK)
Tarek Antonios is a Senior Lecturer at St George’s Hospital Medical School, University of London and a Consultant Physician in Cardiovascular & General Medicine at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
Dr Antonios is the Head of the Blood Pressure Unit at St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, London which is an accredited “Hypertension Centre of Excellence” by the European Society of Hypertension. Dr Antonios is an accredited “Clinical Hypertension Specialist” and is an expert in the management of essential hypertension, resistant hypertension, secondary hypertension, malignant hypertension, pregnancy-associated hypertensive disorders, preeclampsia, and hypertensive heart disease.
Dr Antonios is internationally acclaimed in this field of microcirculation research and has lectured in several international conferences. Dr Antonios research interests include small blood vessels abnormalities in cardiovascular diseases particularly essential hypertension, pregnancy associated hypertension, microvascular angina pectoris and prediction of preeclampsia. Dr Antonios research is mainly funded by the British Heart Foundation.
